BSF Online reaches new people, places
From missionaries in isolation to members in far corners of the world, God is delivering in-depth Bible study to those previously beyond our reach. BSF Online was created to meet the needs of people without access to a local BSF class. Whether transportation, location or scheduling prevented participation, BSF Online allows members to connect with a diverse group in an online setting. A group member from Nigeria can connect with a fellow member in Florida while their leader lives in Scotland. Through their shared study, BSF Online members develop close-knit relationships regardless of their time zones. We’ve been amazed by God’s work through BSF Online and we ask you to join us in praying for BSF Online as registration opens again in the fall.
BSF Online members share their stories
S tranded in France, Helene Wong is patiently waiting to reunite with her husband and two daughters. In May, Helene traveled from her home in Las Vegas, Nev. to Paris, when COVID-19 restrictions prevented her return.
Settling in a small village in Normandie, Helene struggled to find a Christian community. Without a church nearby, loneliness could have been overwhelming, but through BSF Online, Helene never felt alone.
During the BSF study year, BSF Online groups meet online every week so members can gather from anywhere in the world, unlike local BSF classes, who will resume meeting in person when restrictions lift.
“To be honest, being away from my family is difficult, but I have an unexplainable peace. I miss my husband and my daughters, but with God, I’m not that sad or desperate, I feel pretty peaceful. I trust that God has a purpose for this time, there’s always a reason,” she shared.
Like Paul from the Acts and Letters of the Apostles study, Helene sees God working through difficult circumstances.

“Despite trouble and danger, Paul never worried for himself. He continued God’s work without fear, the only thing he was fearing was God,” Helene said. “When I keep my focus on God, I truly believe He has a plan.”

A Spiritual Training Ground
When a friend first told Helene about BSF in 2017, she wasn’t really interested. Raised in Paris, Helene knew about Christian holidays, but beyond attending a few Anglican services, “studying the Bible was not on the agenda.”
Helene was content with her life in Macau, China as she focused on her two daughters and her husband’s growing culinary career. But God knew that Helene needed more. She needed Him.
“When I went back home from lunch with my friend, I discovered there was a Bible in the house. Wherever I went, that Bible was right in front of me. I was asking my husband, ‘Are you reading the Bible, is this your Bible?’ he said, ‘No.’ I asked our younger daughter and she didn’t know. We later discovered that our oldest daughter brought it home from school, but at the time, I saw it as an invitation,” Helene shared.
Helene agreed to try BSF, if only to learn more about her French heritage. But through God’s Word, Helene discovered a deep love for Christ.
“I had been asking Jesus for quite a long time, ‘Who are You?’ ‘Do You really exist?’,” Helene said. “BSF is amazing because the lessons answered a lot of my questions. Each week as I’m learning a new concept in BSF, and then something happens to help me understand it better. It’s like the Bible is the light that keeps guiding me to Jesus. It’s just amazing.”
For almost three years, Helene attended a Day Women’s Class in Macau where she developed a deeply personal relationship with the Lord. As she grew in faith, God prepared Helene for circumstances that would test her resolve and perseverance.
Prepared for Adversity
In 2019, Helene’s husband moved to Las Vegas, NV to pursue a new business opportunity. In July, Helene and her two daughters followed. Immersed in a completely foreign culture, Helene hungered for Christian community. Once again, God worked through BSF. Helene joined a local class and made deep connections with other members. But transportation issues and scheduling problems continually disrupted the group. To meet those needs, the group transitioned to BSF Online, where women from around the city were able to join Zoom meetings.
As COVID restrictions pushed all BSF groups onto internet platforms, Helene experienced the difference between BSF Online and BSF groups who met on Zoom. Before the Pandemic, BSF Online was designed to allow men and women from around the world to join BSF groups during times that fit their schedules.
Group members from Zambia, Hungary, Texas and Brazil could meet together to study God’s Word with a Group Leader who had been trained online.
When Helene traveled to France in May, BSF Online helped her stay anchored in God’s Word.
“I know it’s God’s gracious provision that sustains me through this season of waiting,” she shared. “I feel so blessed to be ‘surrounded’ online by a group of ladies who are eager to study God’s Word. And now my extended stay in a foreign country has become a spiritual retreat, rather than a season of waiting.”
Today, Helene is training to become an Online Group Leader. Still stranded in France, Helene meets weekly with other Online Group Leaders and Trainers to prepare for the Genesis study in the Fall.
Praying through her new leadership role, Helene feels called to invite several non-Christian friends from around the world to join BSF. And BSF Online makes that possible. Those friends who aren’t close to a physical BSF class or can’t attend because of scheduling, travel or transportation issues can study the Bible consistently with trained group leaders, like Helene.
“I just think God is so amazing. Each step He is guiding me. I’m weak in trust, always doubting myself, thinking I’m making the wrong decision. He’s so patient, guiding me step by step,” Helene shared. “The online class solves the problem of isolation and it’s so convenient. Driving in Hong Kong or Paris or Bangkok is so hectic. Having an online class means you don’t have to run after a bus or get stuck in traffic for hours. You’re surrounded by people like you who are thirsty for God’s Word and have questions like you too. It’s a place with answers and direction as you share different experiences from all over the world. It’s enriching, like the Bible in 3D.”
CAROL
Papua New Guinea
“BSF in Nairobi was my lifeline to study God’s Word. In 2018, God called me to become a missionary in Papua New Guinea, where I joined BSF Online for the first time.
I encountered overwhelming culture shock, was missing my normal life, felt lonely, struggled with the language and encountered hostility. My discussion leader was constantly checking up on me. We prayed on whatsapp and it brought so much consolation and comfort.
There were other missionaries in my group and we reminded each other that we were where God wanted us to be. Just knowing that our ASKs were spread all over the world made it so special. With diversity, there were enriching conversations, a physical class would not afford me this.”
BRUCE
United States
“ The past few years were exceptionally challenging at work, yet God’s truth, graciously revealed by the Spirit has given me a proper perspective as well as the peace of knowing God’s will. The Lord used BSF Online to keep me in the Word and be surrounded by men who spoke truth and encouragement. It’s been an incredible blessing and privilege to be involved in BSF online.
With the online group, attendance is more consistent because the members are able to connect from anywhere in the world. Online also provides a more diverse group. Group members participate from around the world, expanding and enriching everyone’s experience. Though it seems counterintuitive, in my experience, the men share more deeply and personally in the online group compared to the physical class.”
MARLENE
Philippines
“ God used BSF Online to teach me how to give up the comforts of being in a physical group. As I embraced the challenges of leading an online group, I learned lessons to be more God-dependent and less self-sufficient
Being an Online Group Leader is touching lives even when WiFi is weak, audio choppy, or faces frozen. The Holy Spirit connects our hearts and minds when words stop and tears flow. We pat each other’s shoulders with our nods and smiles. We hugged one another with prayers.
As I bared my personal struggles and asked for prayers, the Spirit touched my group members to bravely share their stories. Just as we are true to one another, we accept one another. God redirected my focus towards his higher purpose that His name be glorified as man is edified. It’s not about me but all about Him. God did not give up on me when I wanted to give up.”
IRENE

“ I did not know how to set expectations when I started leading my first online discussion group last year for the Acts study. The ladies in my group lived in different continents, and we had never met each other before the first meeting.
There were just too many “what ifs” in my mind each week before I opened the Zoom meeting. Now with hindsight, I am so grateful God prepared me for a teaching season where I learned we are only a prayer away, despite physical distance.
With my little faith in the beginning, I had been asking God, ‘What if the ladies do not share their prayer requests?’ And God told me it’s not my job, but His. Thankfully, I did not have to wait long before the ladies started sharing their needs for prayer during discussion time.”

How do I purchase the spiral bound lesson book for the study of John?
Hi Celeste! BSF members can purchase the lesson book through the BSF Store which is located at both mybsf.org and bsfonline.org, depending on where you normally download your lessons. Thanks!
what are the requirements for being an online discussion group leader?
Adrienne – thank you for asking! Reach out to your Group Leader for more information
Hi! I absolutely love BSF. Last year during Covid, my children were able to participate as well. We all studied God’s word on zoom. I couldn’t wait to sign them up again this year. I was saddened to learn that there is no zoom option for children. Please consider a kids zoom option. It is so very challenging to get kids to a church 30 minutes away on a school night. They have to be at school so early everyday. By the time they get home and ready for bed, it is 10pm. And that’s if there is no homework. The zoom option was amazing. I think many parents and kids would love it! My kids learned so much. I know many mothers who would love this option.
Thank you,
Monika Mitby
Is online the only way this yeat?

My husband is going to try to set me up on zoom from my tablet. I am looking forward to doing this next session. I have 16 years of BSF and loved it. I loved being a children’s leader. I dropped out last year due to commitments with CEF. But now that has come to an end, I am looking forward to connecting with BSF again.
Vivian, so thankful for your husband’s willingness to help you with new technology! Thank you for sharing your encouraging perspective on current challenges.
How do I sign up for online class? I am not available to attend classes in person but would be very interested in online.

Thankyou for these wonderful stories of other BSF members who have shared their stories. I got married late in life to a Hispanic man from Mexico and have lived with him down here for almost 9 years. B4 Covid, I traveled back to the U.S.to visit family and take care of personal business. Now, I can’t do that. I have tried to learn Spanish, but not very successfully and do not understand much of what is being said. We go to a Spanish speaking church when we can, but of course, not right now, during the pandemic. I I have turned to many youtube preachers to get my teachings in the word–they are very good, but I really have no friends or any fellowship with other Christians here other than my husband–he is bilingual, the rest of his family not. When my dear friend who I was in BSF with up in Wisc. wrote me and invited me to join this group over the summer, I was so excited. I now have 6 new sisters in Christ and they are located all over the world. How cool is that ! I can’t wait for the group to start up again in the fall. Thankyou and Praise God for BSF.
Jill, so thankful you have found a BSF community! Praying for you!
So thankful you have new sisters in Christ who are praying for you and may the Lord help you learn the language and keep you safe and healthy as you study God’s Word!
How do i join an online class and how will I be placed in a group?
Dear Rob, you can sign up to receive updates about upcoming registration at bsfonline.org
Hi.
Will we be having regular BSF classes in church as before? I’m not interested in on-line studies. We need personal relationships now more than ever. I’m hoping BSF doesn’t succumb to the irrational demands of our government, suppressing religion and worship of Christ.
Thank you, Sharon Hubanks
Hi Sharon, contact your class leadership for more information about your class’ plan:

We appreciate your prayers as leaders navigate this unprecedented season.
Bsf calss questions paper
Hi, I would like to join the Online group and have signed up on bsfonline.org. However, I didn’t hear about the process of registration. Does anything I have missed. And I would like to know any language to choose for the Online group. Thank you
Hi Anna, BSF online registration will open in August. If you joined the email list, you’ll receive a notification that way!
Will regular BSF in person still be available starting in September?
Hi Ximena, please contact your BSF leadership to learn more about when and how your class will be meeting. Each class is transitioning back to in-person groups according to local regulations.
When lockdown was announced in March in Zimbabwe I was apprehensive that we would not be able to finish the Acts Study. God worked amazingly thru encouragement by our TL. We finished the Study on whatsapp& the ladies shared more deeply than face to face. Glory to God. Even now, the groupis still connected, sharing prayer requests & encouraging each other thru the unchanging comforting Word of God.
Do we have a tentative start date?
Hi Christine, your class leadership can help you with any questions. We can’t wait to see how God will use Genesis to grow His people around the world!
I have been involved in community groups in BSF for last 5 years and a leader for 2 of those. Would like to have more info about moving to an online class if I can.
Hi Kim, if you visit bsfonline.org you can sign up to receive updates about upcoming registration in August.
Hi, Due to COVID-19 will BSF online replace my local meetings via ZOOM that we started in the Spring?
HiEvelyn, thanks for asking! The answer is no, BSF Online will not replace any local class meetings. Each BSF Online group is actually part of an online class, completely separate from local classes that meet in host churches.
This is very informative. We do not have excuses not to study Gods word. It is amazing.
You make a very good point! No more excuses. Many times if I don’t have to be somewhere or if I don’t hold myself accountable, it’s easy for me to let distractions and other business come before studying God’s word! No more, there is an on-line group somewhere for me or anyone to get involved in.
I like to join BSF online bible study; but I didn’t know did I registered yet ? Which month is beginning in 2020 ?

Have there been any decisions made as to whether or not we are going to have in person BSF meetings. Last time my Culpeper group met in a Baptist Church. Before that I was with a group in Northern Virginia. Let me know if any decisions have been made. If we are not going to meet in person then I will join on line. Last Spring our small groups met on Zoom which worked out ok.
Hi Bobbie, your class leadership should have more information about your specific class plans. We are thankful for God’s provision through Zoom until in-person meetings can resume!

Blessings, I am currently in an English speaking group where I live. They don’t have a group in Spanish.
Although, I can continue where I am, I like to explore the opportunity of belonging to an online group in Spanish. What should I do?
Thanks
Hi Milagros, visit bsfonline.org to sign up for updates about upcoming registration options. We would love to help you find a Spanish speaking group!
I love each encouraging remarks and yes due to the pandemic. I know that BSF will be faithful in reaching out to everyone in trouble time to hear unstoppable message BSF as to offer each of us. In hope that we can connect with zoom. Meeting or connecting with any sister in Christ is most helpful. We can learn from another.
I can’t wait to hear back from you.
Jeanie chuyou
Jeanie, thank you for the encouragement! We are continuing to pray that God will use BSF to share His Word with all nations. Thank you for your continued prayers for the ministry❤️
Hi, I’m wondering if I can sign up for BSF online classes please? I’m not sure if I have missed an earlier email on this.
Thank you.
Blessings in Christ,
Eleanor
Hi Eleanor, registration isn’t open yet, but if you visit bsfonline.org you can sign up to receive updates about registration options in August.
I am so excited about BSF online. I have been disabled for the last 25 years. Getting to a face to face class has been very difficult. THANK YOU to all that work so hard for us to enjoy GOD’s word.
Your BSFf is so encouraging to us all. Thanks
This is so encouraging to know my Sisters in Christ are growing in knowing our Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in many different countries by studying God’s Holy precious Word which draws us closer to Him and each other! Praise the Lord Jesus for that!
BSF, make sure you are seeing Jill’s comment on July 15, 2020 at 8:50 pm. “Not all people have access to Zoom or printing or enough internet time or ability to attend classes. We’re still here.” She needs to be encouraged and connected to another BSF member where she lives or something.
Thank you Karen!
I am thankful Jesus never leaves me. I am thankful I can tell Him everything because He already knows and has a perfect plan and answer for His Glory.
Eyes have not seen nor ears heard what God has prepared for those that love Him. 1 Corinthians 2:9
KNOWING THAT STUDYING GOD’S WORD IS STILL IMPORTANT IS ENCOURAGING .
Not all people have access to Zoom or printing or enough internet time or ability to attend classes. We’re still here.
Hi Jill, please reach out to your class leadership. We are encouraging all BSF leaders to assist members who may not have easy access or means to the internet or ability to print. The global pandemic has certainly caused great strain, but we are thankful for fellow Christians and BSF Members who are ready to come to the aid of one another in these challenging times. We are so encouraged by your heart to study God’s Word and understand the deep need to connect with fellow believers. We are praying for all BSF members around the world to stay connected to our Heavenly Father and one another.
I love my BSF group, either in personal or via Zoom. For last year’s study – Acts and Letters of the Apostles – we started as face to face and ended via Zoom; it showed me that indeed God’s Word is UNSTOPPABLE. I will look forward to our next study of Genesis, because I trust God will recreate my experience and draw me closer to Him.
I have invited Spanish speaking friends To join BSF on line. What steps do they need to follow? I visited Bsf online a while ago but couldn’t find any reference to Spanish registration.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Hi Yanira,
If you visit bsfonline.org you can sign up for updates. Registration will open in August with more information about language options. Thank you for your interest and for praying as we open more online groups!
Hi,
Would love to sign up for on line BSF GROUP for next study ?
Lisa, great to hear! If you visit bsfonline.org and sign up for updates, we’ll let you know when registration opens in August.
Thanking God that after last year’s conference on the Unstoppable God and plans by team to have moved to online. Am glad that God pioneered it and we have enjoyed
I still like direct person to person meetings and look forward to the ladies I meet in my group each season. I don’t like to think of giving that freedom up anymore than giving up being able to attend my church. This whole thing has been very difficult for all of us, young and old, but we need that direct contact and fellowship of each other. This is just a season and we will get through it. 1st Peter 5:10 ” The God of all grace who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.” He is our Shepherd … we His sheep.. He leads us, He gives all we need, He comforts us, He provides.. Psalm 23. I say let us put our mask on, social distance and put His armor on and be the warriors He made us to be. Iron sharpens iron… when one falls we have a sister there to pick us up… Look up, remember the Cross and what He did for each and everyone of us. I’m glad we have the technology we do but, being back in my church and with church family, mask and distancing, there is nothing better than that.
Before moving from Indiana to Charlotte, North Carolina over one year ago, I knew I needed to continue BSF! I immediately found a group..even two the area! Also, I was asked to consider leading an online group. Just the thought of meetiing other people around the country and around the world helped me feel like I was home! I have been “at home” in my new land ever since!
We are thankful to the Lord for the opportunity to have BSF online.
I look forward to receiving guidance from my group leader for September 2020.
I am at a loss, so to speak; Is this taking place of in-person classes usually held at the church? Will this be a study group? Is this a way to broaden acquaintances from far and near in a class setting or a setting outside of a class? Thank you in advance for your reply
Hi Anita, the answer is no, BSF Online will not be replacing any in-person classes. It is an addition to current and growing in-person classes. BSF Online is designed specifically for individuals who want to be placed in a BSF group but aren’t able to attend in-person meetings because of scheduling, travel, location, etc.
All in-person classes will resume regular meetings at host churches when current health restrictions begin to lift. BSF Online classes will continue to meet online, allowing thousands of Online Members to study with BSF from anywhere in the world.
This is very timely. In this time of uncertainty and in this pandemic, I feel very uncomfortable meeting in person. Online BSF will definitely be my preference.
I am lookng for a Cantonese speaking Bsf class for a new believer. She lives in San Mateo, California. Please let me know if there is one.
Hi Sandra, you can learn more about groups in her area by visiting https://www.bsfinternational.org/map. To learn more about BSF Online, visit bsfonline.org to sign up for updates and registration info.
How do i join an online class? i am in the western part of Kenya and haven’t had access to a class since i left the USA after my studies in 2007. I will be happy to join an online class with my friends and daughter. Please advise me. Thanks
You are surrounded by GOD’S love enclosed with His wisdom and strength. You were chosen by Him. We are so blessed to hear your stories and to share them with others. We sincerely thank you from our hearts to yours. With much love
Hi Deborah, If you visit bsfonline.org you can sign up to receive information about upcoming registration. To study BSF materials with friends and family, you can also download the WordGo app to create your own group, led by you!
I’ve been meeting on line with my Bsf group this summer doing WordGo studying Joshua! Just having the connection with other women and studying the Bible during COVID has been such an encouragement to me!
I signed up for Wordgo and no response
Hi Nita, to do WordGo you have to create a group or be invited to a group by someone you know. BSF Online operates just like a BSF class. You can sign up and be placed in a group!
I’m really missing my group as each week comes with new experiences and challenges. The group has been meeting online and sharing.I look forward to the september group
Hi Joni,
I’m so sorry for the confusion. WordGo is designed for group leaders to sign up on the app and invite friends to join. BSF Online works like a local BSF class with a leadership structure that’s already in place. If you go to bsfonline.org and sign up for the mailing list, you’ll receive an email when registration opens in August!
I wish to join BSF online.
I miss my Bible Study in person.☹
Raquel, we do too! We are praying for God’s wisdom as we navigate current and future health restrictions. Thank you for joining us in prayer as God’s Word continues to inspire His people around the world.
Simon, we’re excited for you to join! Visit bsfonline.org to sign up for the latest updates about how to register in August.
A note of encouragement from Australia. During the COVID-19 , my family came to Cairns,Clifton beach and we have stayed for four months. To be accurate we came before the borders closed and we spent my Birthday and Easter in Queensland. My group leader Colleen from Melbourne Waverley Group contacted me and I was able to zoom into the meeting. It was wonderful to be part of the study of Acts. The prayers and discussions were great. Wonderful experience.
It is wonderful how richly God blesses us through BSF thanks to the work you have been doing to ensure the classes can continue to operate.
My plea is for the needs of people who are deaf who find it difficult to participate fully in the group discussion sessions and follow sermons especially when the lecturer speaks very quickly. (Zoom is not always effective – Instructions how to set up for zoom so everyone is easily seen would be helpful.)
Just as you do not give a blind person a book to read, surely the premise should/could be that you don’t presume that the deaf are able to listen to recordings of the lectures, write notes and retain the information (especially as one gets older). I accept group participation is always going to be challenging.
My particular request is that written copies of the sermons be made available to members of BSF who have significant hearing loss as a matter of compassion and grace.
I am just not comfortable with the thought of attending my BSF class this year since my husband is immunocompromised. Is there anyway to link up with others in my area for an online meeting?
Sally, don’t worry – you will love your BSF group so much and draw so near to them that your heart will overflow with love! God will provide the perfect group for you to meet with online and they will draw near to one another like you’ve never seen. Many must be online due to the distance to reach the nearest meeting, transportation or many other reasons. But whatever they are, God will provide and meet your needs with whichever group He places you into and it will mesh into a beautiful tapestry of lives who love, laugh, celebrate, and weep together! Just go through the registration process as usual and mention your particular needs and they will help you get into the right group. My husband just began dialysis, so I may soon be in a similar situation where I want to meet from home so as not to endanger him – time will tell! May the Lord bless and keep you both in His loving arms!
Hi Sally
BSF Klang Evening Woman class is doing zoom online very Tuesday at 8pm.
You can email me your details. If not there is a inline group going on.
Just go to BSFonline.org to join a group.

Hi, My wife is from China, has been in Mandarine Zoom BSF for two years now and loves it. They have 3 ladies from mainland China in her group and they all sound great during class sessions. Her GL touches base with her regularly and she likes that.
I met the Lord 43 years ago in BSF, have been a mens GL for a number of years and am looking forward to being a Zoom leader this year. Have one man from California, another travels constantly and another new believer in Washington State all ready to go. Now in a weekly online Bible Study and will keep advertising BSF here as well as church for the fall. Nothing beats BSF.
Ron, this is so encouraging! Thank you for sharing.
My PPL1 Group Leader relayed that we will meet on Aug 26 for the study of Genesis via Zoom. This is a welcome development for me and am excited to see my Sisters again via Zoom.
Actually, anourgrowth of our John Viber group meets every Thursday via Zoom to study Psalms
Recently moved and now looking forward to using on line classes as a way
to stay in the word. Thanks for this perfect way to keep in touch!
What will this mean for local online BSF groups already meeting in Asia? Will this be a new system, will it cancel the local groups that already have multinational membership? What about those online groups that discuss materials in mother tongue languages? Will they integrate to the global online or can they continue to report to their local classes where they can explore the studies using their heart language? In a country of missionaries who travel to restricted locations, the online local group allows the traveling missionaries continued support and fellowship while they are on location but allows them to join the local meetings when they are back in town. How will this work with the new online system? Will you be briefing the local leadership about this new service. We need to know how is it different than the online groups that we have running during periods of self-quarantine and stay-AT-HOME and our local online activities? How does this integrate with the BSF app program that we use with college outreach?
Hi there! BSF Online will not affect existing classes in any way. In fact, in-person classes are growing in number worldwide! BSF Online uses the same leadership structure as an in-person class, but exists to allow those who aren’t able to attend an in-person class to join an Online group. Your AP or TL can help provide more information about your online local group!
It is wonderful to read that there is a BSF online,I would wish to join , praying and hoping that by September we will be able to meet physically. God bless you for always keeping us informed on what is going on.
Is it for certain, that there will be no classes for the study of Genesis?
FYI: I share an email with my husband.
MB, your group leader can help you navigate meetings for the fall. She should have the latest information regarding your specific class.
I would like to join BSF on line.
Lotti, we’re excited to have you join! Visit bsfonline.org to sign up for updates about upcoming registration.
I would like to be part of BSF on line.
Hi Geraldine, We would love for you to be part of BSF Online as well. Go over to our website http://www.bsfonline.org and sign up for the updates. Registration will be open in September.
Hello. Will there be an online class for the school program as well? Thanks
Hi Winnie,
We are not able to offer a school program at this time. Starting with the adult groups:)
My sister Anne lives in London. During this covid-19 pandemic season she has been working from home. She started reading the Bible from Genesis, and told me how she has seen Gods blessings, faithfulness and how sin and disobedience can destroy a relationship with God. I encouraged her to join bsf online discussion group, she said she would love that very much. Am excited that she will be able to join in September.
I will miss the actual classes; hope this virus does last much longer. Ms. Lillie
Hi Lillie, If you belong to a local class then I am sure they will go back to meeting in person as soon as they can. In the meantime, stay connected with your GL for updates.
Thank you for the update. We are grateful that we were able to finish the year on Zoom. Looking forward to meeting together when restrictions are lifted. The opportunity to share with sisters in Christ from diverse backgrounds is unique. I am the director of a small women’s substance abuse recovery center in Salisbury, NC and have been taking the ladies with me since 2013. Participants at BSF has shown what true acceptance is. The ladies at BSF love like Jesus does.
Hi Miriam, That is so encouraging to hear. I’m thankful you have a home with your local BSF class and your ladies do too!
As a Discussion Leader in an evening group that physically meets in a church, I was pleased when on-line BSF began especially for those in communities that don’t have in person BSF classes. Now the Word can be studied in BSF nearly everywhere in the world, which is where we should be. But in the beginning I was dismayed by those who joined on-line but were in communities where BSF classes met in person. However, looking at the over all numbers of people now actively involved in BSF, I can see that we are indeed adhering to Christ’s Great Commission.
Hi Red,
We are excited as well to see all of the opportunities people have to study God’s Word anywhere, anytime!
I am an 83 year old person and don’t see well when I go out at night. As a result I need something online to work through my lessons. It sounds like this may be just what the doctor ordered for me and as a result I look forward to more details so I can get set up for the fall.
Hi Thomas,
BSF Online comes to you! We are happy to have you join us!
Hi! Blessings to you. I have been in BSF since 2015 and I am currently enrolled in BSF in North Canton, Ohio – Chapel starting in September 9, 2020. I was wondering if we are going to have in person BSF or is it going to be on line. I truly miss seeing my Christian friends. Please let me know.
Is there anything that I need to do before September? Please respond.
My email is julenglehar@sssnet..com Phone – (330) 685-5945. Leave a message.
Hi Julia
This has been a hard season of missing each other. Stay connected to your group leader. She will be able to tell you what’s happening with your BSF group in Ohio.
I am so glad to have the new services that BAD will offer. I was unable to get BAD in zoom so receiving it thru internet will be special. Thank you so much…
BSF’s studies are so precious that I’m delighted to see a chance to “ enlarge our tents “
May the Lord bless this improvement and bless much more people
Carole
We hope you are able to join us for Genesis.
I am interested in being part of an online group. I have been a group leader of a traditional group for over 10 years, and have enjoyed the interactions.
I am an older lady and prefer the online groups that we have used since covid-19 began. I am a little concerned about getting back together since I am not sure how we can really do social distancing at our sites.
I have asked my teaching leaders for the past 3 years how I could become part of an online group, but received no information. I would love interacting with college age students, as I was a college professor for over 30 years before my retirement. Can I be a group leader or group member of an online group this fall (2020-2021)?
I really enjoy BSF beacuse I have always wanted to understand and read the Bible but unfortunately I am a very poor reader however, since I joined BSF I find myself reading the Bible. I really enjoy the group work and interaction in trying to understand the Bible.
Can anyway join this online group? Or just people in remote area. The reason I ask is because even though I am in Toronto, I drive 45 minutes to my local group. In the winter it can be challenging for seniors like myself.
I thank God for the BSF HQ team and all those who are working tirelessly to share the good news to all people. I personally have grown through BSF four-fold method of studying the Word and indeed the sharing in group discussions and fellowships have been my best times in my four years as a BSFer. I am sure the online facility will widen the reach and no doubt that is God’s plan.
The unstoppable Spirit at work. Glory and honor to God.
Are there online classes available during the summer?
Is there a children’s program online?
I would like to be available to be a discussion leader in Spanish or ingles if there is an opportunity I been to BSF classes for almost 20 years please let me know
I am interested in an online zoom class. I have in a small surrounding area, due to the CDC19 I have underlining health issue. I would like to join an online class from home. Any group that is available would be find. Just being able to get back in to studying God’s words.
I have just retired a year this month and miss BSF class. Unfortunately not offer in Athens, Tn.
God has blessed me, to be able to be with my grandchildren/family during this unexpected turmoil.
I would love a support contact and love to get back into BSF to remain in God’s studies.
I truly missed BSF and looking forward to hearing from you.
Blessings,
my email contact is jchuyou@yahoo.com

This can be an excellent option for me due to the COVID 19 virus.
I am 80 years old, had a mild heart attack and taking medication
which reduces my immune system.
To God be the glory.
He will never leave us or forsake. We standings on the promises of Jesus powerful healing name. HALLELUJAH !
This is so exciting! Another way God’s Word is being taught throughout the world, and people will come to know Jesus and grow deeper in their faith. God answers prayer.
What software do you need to do this? When the virus hit, our group went to meeting on Zoom. I couldn’t participate any longer because I didn’t have a webcam, and I was also told repeatedly that Zoom isn’t secure. I continued the study on my own as best as I could, listening to the weekly lecture, reading the lessons and doing the questions, but of course missed out on the fellowship part. I’d like to join an online group as there is no immediate foreseeable end to this virus mess, but not if it involves software like Zoom that is not secure or additional devices that I don’t have. Please let me know.
very interested. Will this tie me to an individual group or just an online portal?
I was a member of a community bible study group for years when I was in Birmingham, AL. I had to drop out because of my daughter and husband illnesses. My husband died last year and I relocated to Atlanta, Ga to be closer to one of my children. Because I am still learning the city, I am so glad to hear about BSF online which makes in so convenient from my own home. Can’t wait to be in a group.
Awesome! I’ve a been a BSF member for decades and now I use the BSF Wordgo app during the summer to lead a small group on Zoom each week. How can I transition to become a Leader for BSF Online studies during the school year?
I feel very positive about the online study program and wish to discuss with a couple of current study brothers. In addition, I want to go over the material you sent concerning this program. Not time now..
As I said, I’m quite positive about this opportunity as fellowship does not seem to be an option right now for high risk individuals.
I’m wondering if you could promote the online classes for people in the US who live too far away from a class? I think testimonies from different states would be great.
I so long to have the materials written in French. Is there any way that this could happen? As I read Hélène’s story I wonder if she could help us from France
How and when can I signup for a new online group for the upcoming 2020-2021 study of Genesis?
This sounds like a great option if our groups are not able to meet due to the pandemic! I hope that there will also be online offerings for the school kids programming.
I can indeed testify of Gods sovereignty through the study of ACTS. When this study was launched in the leaders global meeting the theme was that Gods word is Unstoppable as a believer i did believe this but Lord revealed it to ALL believers and unbelievers. Gods word has continued to be shared even in a season where churches have been closed. This is how the Lord works. I pray that more and more people will embrace the online classes. All glory to God.
Thank you for writing your stories! It is very encouraging to hear how God is using this format in peoples lives. I have been an OGL the last two years and was surprised by the closeness I felt to women I saw for only an hour each week. Our lives truly became bonded. The technology issues were sometimes frustrating, but God worked in spite of those things.
Is there a BSF class in American Sign Language? I have some friends who are Deaf who would enjoy this in-depth bible study.
What are the “ASKs” that Carol is referring to on her sharing?
I would like to enroll in the fall. I have but I have not received any comment from you.
I would like to enroll in the fall.
I would like to enroll in BSF on line.
Sure hope we can have live classes this fall. Praying for that. Also, is there any word on a men’s bsf study in St. Augustine, FL ? Thank you and God bless.
I love these stories of faith
Encouraging
BSF is relevant in my life
and loving the Lord and His Word
is so important to me as the day arrives
Please can you allow me to join this online study
Advise what I need to do
How do I be an online leader
May I participate in both an Online and local group? Sometimes health challenges make it difficult for me to get to local group meetings.
This is a great idea! There are many out there {particularly young people} who are thirsty for the Word. But finding time between family and work can be a challenge. So this works well for them.
Secondly, having friends and prayer partners spread all over the world is a blessing and the best way for praying for families around the world.
I am Totally grateful and I consider myself as a real Ambassador of BSF as I deeply love and been blessed by the studies- since 2018 first i attended presencial groups in Basel Switzerland and after online .As I moved to Spain this year I thought would be better join a Spanish Group as I also speak the language but is really hard to attend classes on weekends as we are out with family so I asked my leader if was not other groups In Spanish I could Join as I know other people who is interested but not on weekand , could you tell me where how we can find ? I also would love to help Volunteer in traslation to Portuguese as this is my mother tongue – My family lives in Brasil and they ask when BSF will be available there ?
I would like to join the online class
Will there be live/in person/face to face bed come September?
If not will we be included in an online class?
Thank you
Thank you so much for the opportunity to study God’s word online. I look forward to being a part of the study.
Online classes best decision ever, especially during the covid 19 situation. People need God to overcome the trying times.
Joining BSF in Thika satellite,Nairobi has been inspirational and has enabled me to draw closer to God. It’s impressive to hear the wonderful testimonies of what BSF on line has enabled people to be closer to God and to each other.
I would like more information as this plan progresses. I have a relative that I think would benefit from the online version.
It’s awesome opportunity to read and study the Word of God through online. God bless you all.
Given the current circumstances, l would become BSF via zoom. Blessings.
This is very important information and I will be seeking to join the online classes
Due to Covid I am interested in online class as I assume we won’t be meeting in person.
I praise God for using all the technology He has allowed us to develop to spread BSF to people in small towns, in remote locations and all over the world! It is thrilling to read the accounts of the online members and leaders and of the way God is knitting these groups together. How exciting that the possibility of being in a BSF Class doesn’t depend on being in a large metropolitan area. We serve a limitless God!
How can I invite someone else?
I would like to invite a ‘shut in’ neighbor. How would I do this?
What a blessing to hear about commitment to Jesus and His Word by these online members. To God be the Glory!
I have a neighbor I would like to invite to BSF on line. How do I do that? She is a Christian, has health problems, and is interested in Bible study.
I would like to join the September on line group.
Hello,
We thank God for enabling this transition and continue to commit HQ in prayer.
How can a new member register?
Will the Children Program also transition to online?
Is bible study fellowship online going to be replacing the in person fellowship in September due to Covid? If you are in need of leaders for the new online classes I would like to be a leader. I know how to use Zoom and have been in BSF for over 7 years. Please let me know.
May people who have not been inBSF before join the online study?
I think I might be interested in this.
I did BSF online when Covid started. I missed the closeness of the classroom and getting up, dressed ,and ready to go, the drive over there. I will do what is necessasary to attend BSF. I prefer to be in the class room but I will graciously take what God gives me.I love BSF and am looking forward to studying the Old Testament again.
My friend would like to join my group when we resume class in September. Is that possible?
I did do the BSF online when Covid started, but I did miss the closeness in the class room and getting up, getting showered and ready and leaving to be there on time.
I will do what is necessary to attend a BSF class , but my preference would be in class, but I will graciously take what God gives me, and be thankful.
I love BSF, and I am looking forward to another Old Testament Study!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Praise be to our Unstoppable God whose word is being preached to the ends of the world.
BSF has grown and evolved in amazing ways since I joined over 20 years ago, embracing technology and world changes and adapting to real life situations. The visions and missions of the BSF leaders, shows how through prayer and God’s leading the Bible is the true word and is alive.
God bless his work, God bless you all.
AM EXCITED TO DO AN ON LINE bsf THIS FALL ! WILL SOME ONE CONTACT ME IN aUG ? I TOLD MY CLASS TEACHING LEADER THIS TYPE CLASS SMALL GROUP ON ZOOM WORKS BEST FOR ME THIS FALL BONNIE sIEMENS wICHITA eAST CLASS
This us amazing. I would like to be an on line group leader. I have been in BSF for over 7 years though on and off.
#1 If I am not able to attend BSF online class on Tuesday mornings, will I be able to find a group on another day? #2 I have two High Schoolers and one 3rd grader, will there be kid’s classes online this year?
Love BSF. Such a wonderful and supportive group. Love my leader and fellow women.
If you are looking for online instructors, I would be interested. I have a degree in Theology Bible Studies. I have taught English to Refugees that have come to the United States for 4 years.
More than anything else, I enjoyed the physical BSF meetings while in Nairobi – Kenya for three years running. I learned so much about God. I heard Him speak to me in so many different ways. His word is soothing to the soul. It is awesome. The more I studied the Bible, the more I wanted to learn. There was just no end to it. However, after coming to the US in 2018, my schedule could not allow me to attend the physical meetings. And as time passed by, I have come to appreciate the power of fellowship, and more so the BSF way. I look forward to the online sessions starting in September. Thank you BSF. Thank You God for this privilege to feast at Your table, to gaze at Your wonderful face and get to know You more.
Helpful to read about, and inspiring to see how God is in control and at work!
I am SO glad to know that BSF is finally pushing the online class! Having the group members beyond the geographic limitations with a familiar local mind set, online class must be an ideal place to learn about God and discuss about Words with different & much boarder perspectives. That would be the main purpose of joining BSF and learn a lot from other group members, and that makes you more matured as a Christian (at least for me). I am looking forward to the online class so much!
I have registered Online BSF. I plan to join in Sep. I still dont u’stand how to find an Online group & when should I start to find the group? How do I network with Christians from different part of the world.
Can you guide me through?
thank you for your out reach services much needed!!!
I am not able to be in an online group. Can I download the study notes so I can study on my own?
thank you !!
How do we register? I have been in the Lamar Baptist BSF In Arlington Texas for 5 years. I assume we are not going to meet there for the 2020/2021 year.
I am very interested in the on-line BSF group. I’ve been a BSF member for the past 7 or 8 years and love love love it. The location I was at is Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Fort Wayne, IN the Monday evening Adult Women’s group.
How are children’s leaders supposed to minister to children and teach them the Lord’s word in a strictly online environment. Especially when it involves a preschool level child please advise. Thank you so much Lizbeth Marsh preschool children’s leader.
BSF Online connects people exactly where they are in time and place – so they can know God wants to meet them exactly where they are and they can know His plan for them through His Son, Jesus Christ!
I belong to a local BSF group in Texas. I had an unexpected experience with a simulated online(facetime) classes this past Spring as Covid-19 pandemic prevented classes as usual. I eagerly look forward to what God leads our leaders in preparation for his word to studied and shared.
In a season filled with so many losses, I think I was hoping to going back to the comforts of a “normal setting”. Yet at the same time, in my spirit, I didn’t see that happening, nor am I sure I wanted it to. I now realize that when God led me to the scripture verse,”behold I am doing a new thing, do you not perceive it”, that it was a call to forget what I think I know and prepare for what He wants to show me. I loved the adventure of the Acts of the Apostles season. I saw parallels between the difficulties of the early church and the initial experience with the COVID -19. I had absolute faith that we would finish out the season strong, and we did, concluding with a poignant sharing day on Zoom. Now, I am looking ahead to new beginnings and excited for what God will do and what He will show us this season. God bless all of you and God bless BSF.
If I joined BSF online, what would my group look like? Would it consist of people from my local area, or would it be a group formed from people all over the world? Also, once my local group started meeting together in person again, would I be put in that group or stay with my online group?
I would be interested in this because of my work schedule and I am also a caretaker so it would be easier for me to do a study online.
Hi – I was a part of a BSF group in Colorado Springs for 2 years but went back to school and I miss my bible studies. I would be totally interested in an online class. I am looking forward to the registration.
I am interested in joining an online BSF group.
BSF online will be a God send! I am my husband’s sole caretaker as he fights multiple myeloma at home. I can participate online and still be near if my husband needs me. I also have pre-existing factors that make me susceptible to Covid-19.
I have a question. Are transfers allowed for the fall Genesis BSF study. I had taken BSF during the day on Wednesdays at Saratoga Federated Church in Saratoga, CA. However, I have notified a Monday BSF evening class, which will work better for my schedule. The Monday evening BSF class is held at Los Gatos Presbyterian Church, Los Gatos, CA.
Thank you and God Bless
Sandra
last year we ended with the last 5-6 lessons on zoom. My group had great attendance and it made it easier for many in the group to stay regular in their study. As a leader it also helped if I was going out of town to stay as leader in my group. My group,12 of them. , have expressed a desire to stay together and my question is is there a way to do that with our local groups and act like a BSF online group?Others could certainly join in and there are always some who have no access to the internet. we all missed getting together in person, but at this time in New Mexico I am not sure if our Governor is going to allow it. They all listened to the lecture online and did the questions and their transparency in sharing was amazing.
Thanks for the time you spend with all the lessons and admin. work to shine the light of Christ to all of us.
I need to do BSF online. Do I get to put my name on the list?
Thank you.
Seems this maybe the only way this year. I want to be open minded about this option.
I was glad that we had the option of online Bible study. Through this time I want everyone to be safe. What ever you decide I will be safe in going to BSF if we are coming to the church.
How is this different than WordGo? I’ve been using that and love it because it’s just like BSF. Are you discontinuing WordGo? When will BSF online launch?
I would like to know how BSF will be offered in the United States this year since the virus is everywhere. I think on line is a good ideal for people that are co,fortable doing it on line. I like the classroom setting but do understand that this may not be possible this year.
Great to know! Are you sharing this in response to COVID-19? Is BSF taking more US classes online?
How do I do online classes
I have been with BSF for the last 13 years and have loved the studies. With our new reality I think this approach will be great. I am excited about signing up and getting started.
Good afternoon from Northern California, I just signed up to receive the updates because I’m not sure what the conditions are going to be here in our state in September. I am 66 years old and need to be mindful of my health as well as others. I live in San Joaquin County and attended the BSF satellite discussion group in OaKdale which is part of Modesto Covenant/Trinity Presbyterian (which are in Stanislaus County). I sure feel blessed that BSF let us finish the Acts Bible Study with Zoom meetings this past Spring. Sincerely, ~Mary Anne Strojan~ Farmington, CA
Helena so sorry you are away from your family. What a beautiful place to be stranded in. We were there 2 years ago, and scheduled to go the first week of April. We couldn’t get there due to Covid. So glad you found BSF. I love love my group!! So glad a friend invited me to join a year ago. What a life saver through out this situation. What a powerful group of Godly women and prayer warriors I have met in Pam Landolt group in Toledo , Ohio.
How do I sign up for online?
Attending online BSF has been a blessing as I have relocated to a remote area of the Midwest in the United States. The nearest physical class is one hour away and with bad weather during the winter months it would be impossible to attend regularly. I have been attending BSF since the 1980’s and it has been the best well organized Bible study I have ever had the pleasure to attend. Online classes have allowed me to continue to study God’s word and focus on what is important in my life. God is truly moving mountains with BSF and I am blessed to be a part of it! I pray God continues to move BSF in order to get His gospel message to every corner of the earth! God bless!
God is on the move with BSF and He is always up to something good. I welcome this change and thank each member who participates in the commitment it takes to study God’s Word and share how the Triune God is revealing Himself to you and me. So we “make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy for without holiness no one will see the Face of God.” Hebrews 12:14
I am so thankful for my BSF group. My group of wonderful Christian Women have helped me feel much less isolated in this remote area of North Dakota. I have thought that I would return to an “in person” class when we move back to Michigan, but with the strong relationship that God has given our online class, I am not so sure.
I have an ankle injury, had to stop working. A friend of mine took me to church to join BSF. I was wondering how I would get there every week as walking from the train station would make it difficult and driving there to park close enough is so difficult as it is a very popular time to attend to church as well as the pain on my ankle. Suddenly Covid happened and Zoom was available , I have learned so much about how others see God in their lives and God’s words and actions from the Bible. Thank you for organising BSF.
Hello! How do I get connected to an online study group?
I recently moved to the Aberdeen, MD area from the Ft Hood area in Texas. I’ve signed up to attend a BSF group near Baltimore this Fall but am rethinking my decision. Am very interested in an On line group. Would appreciate information.
Thank you.
I have felt isolated but have remained hopeful that I may dedicate myself, once again, to a BSF study.
Some years ago, I served as Admin and later, as a DL. Perhaps, the Lord will bless me again.
Loved reading how God is on the move all over the world with the use of technology. Thank you BSF for investing in this new tool for reaching others for Christ!
My wife & I have been involved in an online bible study since March 2020. It started as a small group meeting in our church. I am interested in being part of a Zoom BSF group if there are any openings. I’m very interested in a multicultural group if possible. Thanks. Alan
I am unsure about how we can include some who do not know how zoom works. I have listened to my daughters churches over zoom. Also watched themconduct mtgs over Facebook &google &Zoom. I need to learn. Times are changing..
I am hopeful that we will meet in person
Great to know that there will be an on line choice this coming season. Thanks for the update…more to follow?
God Bless Each One Of You!!
This is my third year coming up with BSF. I’m very excited about studying Genesis. I have read that book more times, and always blessed finding something new. You can count me in. I’m not real good with a computer, but God willing I will figure it out.
God Bless
Pamela Prokos
Are we going to online classes this year? As the virus rampages here in South Texas will our classes be offered online?
I do have access to a class in Houston and would like to personally attend the class meeting at Christ EPC rather than online. I believe also that local fellowship is very important
This is wonderful. Our class here in Texas. had to hold our classes online for several months due to the Clovid19 virus, and we anticipate meeting online for many months. Thank you for this gift to us.
I’m very hopeful that we will meet again this September in person, even if it means wearing masks.
I am not interested in a class that doesn’t meet in person and instead chooses to Zoom.
If the church is open and allows us to meet there this would certainly be the optimal thing
to do.
I would love to be part of an online group. I tried to join last year but was told they were full. Maybe this year I’ll get a group.
Thank you for making me aware of this. I would be interested in taking on-line studies; up until we are able to meet up in person. Perhaps ongoing…
I HAVE DECIDED TO START READING THE BIBLE FROM GENESIS TO REVELATIONS….THIS WILL BE MY WAY
OF CONTINUING MY STUDY OF THE WORD.. I AM NOT GOOD AT ATTENDING ON LINE STUDIES.
TEND TO DO IT ONCE THEN NOT THE NEXT, BUT THE NEXT, AND NOT THE NEXT.
NOT CONSISTENT. SORRY –
I HAVE LOVED MY YEARS WITH BSF AND WILL CONTINUE AGAIN WHEN THIS ISSUE IS ALL OVER AND LIFE
GOES BACK TO NORMAL IF IT EVER DOES.
Hey! I am Erika trying to parctipate as a member with WordGo – is WordGo from BSF?
I do not not know what is hapenning Because my contact yesterday didn’t work. It Took me more than an hour online and I didn`t succeed in writing to Freddy. All I have written didn`t upload. Looking fotward to guilda um my onde Groupon very soon.
Encouraging and inspiring, thanks for this email!
This is a wonderful program. Thank you for planting it for those who cannot attend. I’ve been teaching the Book of Ezekiel online during these past few months and we also set aside a day to pray for our nation. It’s a wonderful way to have fellowship and learn. I praise GOD for BSF and their outreach and new ideas to how to reach others with the Word of GOD. Thank you for all your hard work. May Jesus be glorified and many come to know Him as Savior and LORD.
Under the circumstances, I am all for ONLINE classes. It is safe and available worldwide no matter where we are stranded. I would not expect local in-person BSF to start till September next year. We need to be physically safe so we can be spiritually safe!
I have a dear friend who visited from England. He saw my questions and my readings and asked what BSF was. I gave him the information. Is there a contact I can email in England?
